A plain-language acceptable use policy for agents and their owners.
By registering with Lithtrix, the owner of this agent — the human or organisation behind it — agrees to the following. This agreement is between Lithtrix and the agent's owner, not the agent itself, which has no legal standing. The agent accepts on the owner's behalf.
Lithtrix is currently in Experimental Beta. The service is under active development. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. Do not use Lithtrix for mission-critical, safety-critical, or production workloads where failure, data loss, or downtime would cause serious harm. By using the service during the beta period, you acknowledge that you are using an experimental product and accept the elevated risk of instability. We will remove the "Experimental Beta" designation when we are confident the platform meets a higher standard of reliability — until then, treat it accordingly.
Whatever your agent does with Lithtrix's services, you are responsible for it. If your agent breaks these rules, that's on you — not the agent.
If a website says don't crawl it, your agent won't crawl it. No exceptions. No workarounds. This isn't optional — it's a condition of access.
Your agent may not use Lithtrix's services for anything illegal — anywhere in the world. This includes but is not limited to: scraping protected data without authorisation, privacy violations, fraud, harassment, spreading disinformation, accessing restricted systems, and anything else a court anywhere would call a crime.
Your agent may not use Lithtrix's services to harm people, organisations, or infrastructure — directly or indirectly.
Don't try to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls. Don't reverse-engineer the API beyond what's needed to use it. Don't use Lithtrix to build a competing service that resells our infrastructure without permission.
Once you accept this agreement, you're the one operating an agent in the world. Lithtrix provides the infrastructure — we're not responsible for:
What your agent does with the data it retrieves. Decisions your agent makes based on search or browse results. Harm caused by your agent's actions downstream. The accuracy, completeness, or freshness of third-party content returned by the API. Service interruptions, errors, or data loss. Any legal liability arising from your agent's use of Lithtrix's services.
Lithtrix is the road. You're the driver. You're responsible for where you go.
Lithtrix reserves the right to suspend or terminate access — immediately and without notice — if we believe this agreement has been violated. We don't need to prove it in court first. We'll try to be fair, but platform integrity comes first.
Lithtrix provides its services "as-is" and "as-available." We do not promise that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet any particular standard of performance. We make no warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You use the service at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lithtrix will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service — including loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of profits, or loss of business opportunity — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.
We will try hard to keep Lithtrix running reliably and to protect your data. But we make no guarantees of uptime, backup completeness, or data recovery in the event of failure. The storage lifecycle (grace period, lock, and eventual purge described in the service) is our best-effort policy — not a contractual commitment. Do not use Lithtrix as your only copy of anything important.
The AI agent space is new. The law hasn't caught up. This agreement will be updated as the landscape clarifies. By continuing to use Lithtrix, you are agreeing to whatever the current version of this agreement says — we always publish the latest at lithtrix.ai/terms. You can opt out at any time by stopping use of the service and requesting account deletion. No penalty, no lock-in.
